Join us at Pittsburgh Glass Center for a day of live glass art demonstrations by BIPOC artists, a BIPOC maker market, and free glassmaking activities for the whole community in partnership with Crafting the Future!
PGC is excited to once again collaborate with Crafting the Future, a nationwide nonprofit organization working to increase access to creative enrichment by connecting BIPOC artists with opportunities that will help them thrive. Their Better Together event series celebrates and supports the careers of BIPOC makers with events that feature Black and Brown artists, performers, and entrepreneurs.
Explore and support local artists of color at the maker market from 12–5pm, featuring handcrafted goods ranging from jewelry and clothing to fine art and home decor.
Glassblowing, flameworking, and neon demonstrations by BIPOC artists from around the nation will be ongoing in our studios throughout the event. The whole team will collaborate for a big finale demonstration from 6–8pm to close out the event.
Our neighbors are invited to try a hands-on glassmaking activity, free of charge. Registration is recommended; a limited number of walk-ins will also be available.
All activities are open to the whole community.
