Great News! We are only $5,000 away from reaching our challenge grant goal of $25,000!
We are so close. Your donation will make the difference. Make a donation today and help us secure the additional $25,000 for the newly established Karen Block Johnese Operating Fund or the William and Maxine Block Scholarship Fund. Karen and her family have been patrons of the arts for many years. Without their support the Pittsburgh Glass Center would not exist today.
Like all nonprofits, the Pittsburgh Glass Center needs operating funds to support the marketing, development and administrative expenses of the organization and just to keep the furnaces fired up. To honor Ms. Karen Block Johnese for her years of service – first as a founding board chair, and most recently as Executive Director – the Glass Center has developed the Karen Block Johnese Operating Fund.
The Pittsburgh Glass Center believes that the arts are an important component to learning. Not only do the arts develop the creativity of our youth, they also engage young audiences in critical thinking and problem solving – skills that they will use throughout their lives. The scholarship program provides full or partial merit-based scholarships for students to explore the creative process in hot glass.
